May 2009 was really busy. In addition to a reception at Lone Oak Winery and the SWA National show, I had a big solo show. It was held in the enormous back gallery of the Fort Worth Community Arts Center. It was really cool to see so much of my work in a museum setting! I focused on painting for competitions, as well as commissions. I had two pieces accepted into the national show for Women Artists of the West in Saks Gallery in Denver, and sold one. I have started working in watercolor again, while trying to maintain the color and style of my western work, which is fun and challenging. I won a Merit Award at the 2009 SWA National show and earned signature membership with "Movin' On", which also got an honorable mention at TAG. At the 2008 Weatherford Art Association's Open Juried show, I won Best in Show and a nice cash award with the oil "Trail's End".
Commissions The paintings below were created for specific clients. They range in size from 8x16" to 36 x 48". I generally work from photos I shoot, but can also work from your images, even emailed pix! However, I cannot use a photo with a copyright belonging to someone else. I will be happy to plan a photo shoot at your home/ranch to capture images of the people and animals that would make a painting special and personal. Together, we can choose and crop an image that makes a good composition, and decide on a size within your budget. The finished painting could take from a few weeks to a few months to complete, but will be a colorful original work of art that will last many generations. Please contact me regarding custom artwork for yourself or as a gift. 1- 817-994-7663
When the client received "A Quiet Bond", he wrote me, "I must admit, not only is the painting beautiful, you captured our daughter's demeanor as well."
